Static mixers are inline mixing devices with no moving parts, thus require no external power source and are practically
maintenance free.
Homogeneous blends or dispersions are produced in a laminar, transitional or turbulent flow regime. This is achieved in
a very short length of pipe.
To achieve these results, the mixer relies partly or wholly on the following principles:
Radial eddying
Flow division
Shear reversal
These transport phenomena combine to eliminate concentration, velocity, and thermal gradients in a plug flow fashion without losses.
Typical Processes Static Mixers are Used in:
Static Mixers
Liquid – liquid blending
Liquid – liquid dispersion
Gas – liquid gas blending
Heat transfer
Thermal homogenisation
